Rio Grande Turkey Hunting

Spring gobblers on private land, hunted over decoys and calls. Roosted flocks, low pressure, and guides who know where the birds hold.

Spring on the Ranch

The gobblers we chase.

Rio Grande turkey are native here, and spring is their season. We hunt roosted flocks on private ground that sees little pressure, so the birds behave the way they should: talkative at first light and workable off a good setup.

It is a hunt built on decoy spreads and calling, with a guide reading each bird and adjusting. New hunters get a patient hand and a real chance at a longbeard. Old hands get room to run their own calls.

Late March through mid-May, in groups of five or more, on the same ground our family has worked since 1905.
